Text: John 12:1-11 | Series: John 12-21

Every moment of our lives, we are pouring out energy, resources, time, and attention to our life goals whether these come in the form of possession, fame, or some perceived success.

Whether we realize it or not we are living for some causes. But are these causes worth the outpouring of our lives?

Or could we, like Judas and the Pharisees, be ‘mis-pouring’ our lives under the guise of religion?

John 12:1-11 tells of Mary pouring extremely expensive perfume onto Jesus’ feet and wiping them with her hair.

Mary was honoring Jesus with an extravagant and humbling act. And yet, doesn’t this reflect what Jesus Christ our Lord did on the Cross by pouring out his blood for us to secure our salvation?

Oh the fragrant aroma of the Gospel of Christ!

May we find Him worthy of our poured out lives in order to gain Him.
