Text: John 16:25-33 | Series: John 12-21

Up until John 16, the disciples, like all Jews, had not asked anything in Jesus’ name.

They prayed in the way God allowed them to pray; represented by a priest in a temple with the sacrificial system.

But Jesus has been introducing a new way of prayer in John 14 (verse 13-14), John 15 (verse 7 and 16) and John 16 (verses 23-24, 26).

Jesus taught that with the new covenant, after His death, resurrection and the coming of the Holy Spirit, there’ll be a new way to talk to God.

We now have been given direct access to God’s throne room (Heb 4:16).

In this sermon, Pastor Adam expounded on the new way of praying. He considered:

  • What it means to be praying in Jesus’ name
  • The promise of how God answers the prayers of His people and
  • How we can actually do this
