Text: 1 Thessalonians 5:12-24 | Guest Speaker

What is a Biblical Church? It is a body of believers of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

In 1 Thessalonians, Paul, Timothy, and Silvanus wrote to the Church at Thessalonica who was in the midst of persecution for their faith in the gospel.

From the passage, we see five attributes of a biblical church at work.

A Biblical Church is one:

  1. That is served by faithful leaders and honored by peace-loving members
  2. Where believers point each other to Christ
  3. That desires God’s will; rejoicing always, praying without ceasing, and giving thankful under all circumstances.
This can only be done when one is living in Christ Jesus
  4. That is led by the Holy Spirit
  5. Where believers are growing in holiness

May the church of Christ strive together,  by God’s grace, to live out these attributes to the praise and glory of God!
