“I can’t do it.”, sure, you’ve heard that phrase used quite a bit. Maybe you yourself have used it often on. Now, there’s some context, where that has a negative connotation, like a whiney child, “I can’t do it”, or a lazy employee who doesn’t show much initiative, I can’t do it, or a family member refusing to take responsibility, I can’t do it. We can think of several situations where rightly so, we disapprove of the response, I can’t. But it’s actually a quite commendable posture when I can’t, is followed by a humble, so I need your help, and that’s the attitude needed if we are going to be imitators off God, those who walk with the spirit. That’s our theme this morning, would you listen as I read the word of God for us, [Ephesians 5:15-21] “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.”
