Who is our God? – Rescuer (Exodus 1-18)

For accuracy of this transcript, please refer to video or audio file)

Well, good morning again. I especially want to greet those of us in the church family who I know are gathering in homes this morning. I’ve heard of several places where church members are gathering together. That’s wonderful for those of you who maybe haven’t thought of doing that, I would encourage you next Sunday. Why don’t you plan on inviting someone over to your place? So, as we continue to live stream, we can at least have a smaller gathering in the same physical location. While we continue to pray that soon the government will change the policies, so we can all be together once again here at gateway. Encourage you to open your Bibles to the Book of Exodus. Exodus is the second book in the Old Testament, we will be summarizing the first section of Exodus this morning. Back on Father’s Day of this year, Trade Jones and Marcus Harvey heard a crowd of people gathering down the street in the neighborhood where they live in the United States. They went to check it out, and they found that there was a house on fire and people were gathering and making videos and posting them on social media. They also heard people over talking with one another about how it sounded like someone was stuck inside the building. And yet no one was doing anything about it. Well, to Mr. Jones and Mr. Harvey, it doesn’t sound right. And so, these two men bravely went to the blazing house and they kicked down the front door. And sure enough, they found a 56 years old man trapped inside, and they picked him up and they carried him out to safety. Modern day heroes. Most people like a good rescue story, if that describes you. You’ll really like the Book of Exodus.
