Why Should We Treasure God’s Word (Psalm 19)

(For accuracy of this transcript, kindly refer to video or audio file)

Good morning, church, get your bibles. Please turn with me to the Book of Psalms. We’re going to be in one of the Psalms this morning. Now, before I tell you which Psalm to turn to, let me just say, that the Psalm we’re going to look at that has to do with this question. Okay, the Psalm we’re going to look at, it’s going to answer this question, “Why should we treasure God’s word?” Now, obviously, I’m interested in what the Psalmist has to say about this question, what would David had to say. But before we look at what David answers. I just want to ask you, what was your answer? Why should we treasure God’s word? Why do you personally treasure God’s word? Maybe you’re not yet a Christian. You’re just exploring Christianity. You’re exploring who this Jesus is? What is it that we do here at church and you don’t have an answer yet, and that’s totally fine. Obviously, you’re still free to participate with us. Hopefully, by the end of today’s time, you’ll have a few answers of your own. Maybe you are a Christian. But let’s face it. The past few months have been super dry, pretty challenging for your love for God and his word. And so, I hope that by studying this Psalm together, we’ll all have a few more reasons why we should treasure God’s word. So, let’s turn to Psalm 19 and from Psalm 19 we’re going to see four reasons why we should treasure God’s word. We’re going to see that its unique going to see that is perfect. We’re going to see that it’s certain, we’re going to see that is unique, perfect, certain and sweet.
